Our Working Philosophy

Innovative Consulting Ltd. has a mandate to provide consulting services to law firms that are pragmatic, forward thinking and actionable. We are believers in the K.I.S.S formula. “Keep It Simple, Stupid.” We also believe in the diet metaphor espoused by our friend, David Maister. What many firms do is look at the entire “diet” and become overwhelmed by all of the factors (eat right, exercise, stop smoking etc). We begin with the question, “What is the first step towards our goal?” Once we have succeeded with that step, we then, and only then, look at the next step. Start small and build on successes.

Innovative Consulting’s work is also unconditionally guaranteed to the complete satisfaction of you, the client. We unconditionally guarantee a client’s satisfaction. If a client is not completely satisfied with our efforts, we will, at their discretion, accept a portion of our fees that reflects their level of satisfaction, even if that means completely waiving our professional fees.

We believe that only the clients can develop the strategies that their firms' need. If the consultant gives a firm a strategy, a compensation system or a marketing plan the result will almost always be a lack of buy-in and a commitment to implementation because it is the consultant’s plan, not the partners' plan. We believe that the proper role for an external consultant should be as a coach (to encourage individual participation), catalyst (to share from our experience some substantive ideas and to provoke thinking) and facilitator (to harness consensus in areas of agreement).
